Current Position: Since the academic year 2014/2015, he has been employed at the Academy of Arts, University of Banja Luka, where he currently holds the title of Associate Professor. He serves as the Head of the Department of Piano and Accordion, and as the Academic Coordinator for International Student and Staff Exchange.

Education:

– Dejan Janković was born in 1989 in Mostar. He completed the primary and secondary music school “Vlado Milošević” in Banja Luka in 2008 in the class of Prof. Biljana Jašić Radovanović. He graduated in 2012 from the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka, majoring in piano, in the class of Prof. Nevena Popović as a top student, and the following year completed his master’s degree in piano at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in the same class. He completed his doctoral studies in piano in 2017, under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Vladimir Cvijić at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade.

In 2013, the City of Banja Luka awarded him the “Banja Luka – to the youth” award, as a special form of recognition for his achievements in the field of culture and art.

He has given about forty solo concerts and the same number of chamber recitals and has performed numerous times throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, as well as in Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Belgium, France, Germany and Spain. He has played several times as a soloist with the orchestra of the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka, the Orchestra “Ban Svetislav Tisa Milosavljević”, with the Banja Luka Philharmonic and the Niš Symphony Orchestra. He has participated in numerous music festivals in the country and abroad.

  • First prize and laureate in the oldest category of the Davorin Jenko International Competition in Belgrade (2014).
  • Finalist of the Danube Countries Piano Competition in Ulm, where he went as a representative of the Belgrade Music Academy (2014).
  • First prize and laureate in the oldest category of the International Competitions of the Banja Luka Biennial (2010, 2012).
  • Third prize at the “F. Chopin” International Piano Competition in Rome (2011).
  • First prize at the European Music Competition in Turin (2010).
